





Working with Hop Fibres
A Live Online Talk & Demonstration With Eduarda Bastian

A close relative of hemp, the hop plant also contains precious fibers that can be useful for different applications. During this lesson, Eduarda will share her theoretical and practical research on hop fibers, where we will learn about its history and manual extraction methods.
The first part of the class will focus on the historical aspects of hop fibers and a summary of the current research about the characteristics and possible applications of the fibers.The second part of the class will be about manual extraction methods of hop fibers.
Eduarda Bastian is a plant fiber researcher, with focus on ethnobotany. Founder of Fibershed Brasil and MA in Sustainable Fashion at ArtEZ University of the Arts.
