What natural materials are fundamental to your creative practice, and how do these materials shape your work?

Join a global community of artists and practitioners sharing their explorations of working with plant, mineral, and animal based materials for making natural colour and art materials.

Each group will gather for 12 monthly sessions. Each session includes a guest artist deep diving in to their practice with a particular natural material, followed by group sharing and discussion.

Welcoming members at all stages of learning, from experienced makers to beginners.

Starting in March 2027

Develop a comprehensive understanding of how to make natural paints and inks for paper, canvas, wood panels, plaster, and other surfaces.

Each session will cover a different approach to paint and ink making using botanical and earth based colour with natural binders.

Swatching and sampling throughout the course, so you can compare the different recipes side by side.

Starting in May 2027

This series has been designed to work as one long course sharing the skills involved in making artists books from scratch, with each element handmade from natural materials, incorporating colour and pattern, as well as natural threads and cordage.

From fibres crafts, natural dyeing, and printmaking, through to binding and folding paper in to books. The programme is also available as individual classes, so you can learn the techniques that are most relevant to your practice.
